Spur Intelligence
Spur provides IP intelligence that helps organizations detect and prevent threats hidden behind VPNs, proxies, and other anonymization infrastructure. Trusted by security and fraud teams, Spur's technology sits at the critical intersection of threat detection and business protection, providing a platform for maintaining the integrity of business infrastructure.
With new leadership and a playbook for rapid growth, Spur tapped us to lead a rebrand and web redesign. Our objective: communicate the value proposition through an ownable brand platform and web experience, positioning Spur as a market leader with the momentum to scale. The result is a distinct brand system and lead-gen platform that cuts through a crowded market, communicating a complex offering with clarity.
Moving beyond industry tropes, the Spur brand system is built around a distinct identity, a high-contrast palette, structured typography, and a modular pattern system creating a bold sense of clarity and precision.
The identity comprises two elements: the Spur symbol and a clean, modern wordmark. Able to stand alone or together, the identity was designed to remain authoritative and legible at every scale and across touchpoints.
The Spur color palette anchors on three primaries: Spur White, Spur Black, and a signature Neon. A supporting neutral range adds depth, while a secondary teal palette is reserved for data visualization, allowing the brand to signal precision and intelligence without visual noise.
Three typefaces form Spur’s typographic system. KMR Apparat leads across headlines and display. Inter handles body copy. Fragment Mono provides a monospaced treatment across labels, data points, and navigation. We used type to project authority, clarity, and legibility, reinforcing brand intelligence across the system.
Spur’s visual language embodies de-obfuscation, moving from noise to signal. Imagery is restrained and purposeful: geolocation views ground the brand in a real-world context, particle renders visualize attacker activity, and bitmap treatments add editorial depth. Motion provides transitions that mirror the product’s journey from hidden complexity to clarity.
We designed the Spur site to serve both brand experience and functional B2B lead-gen objectives. It needed to be bold. It needed to perform.
The brand provides a visual narrative using motion, interaction, and a structured grid system to create an intentional experience. The site builds on the concept of deobfuscation – moving from noise to signal. Imagery is used with purpose, with topographic views offering real-world context, particle renders visualizing attacker activity, and bitmap treatments adding visual depth.
The site is structured to take visitors through real-world use cases, replacing the typical feature-driven content approach with outcome-based storytelling. Content is organized for clarity, meeting the needs of visitors at both a beginner and an expert level of comprehension. Built on Sanity CMS, we created a content operations model that supports scalability, enabling the Spur team to move with agility as business needs change.
The impact of this work extends beyond traffic and engagement metrics. The new brand and site have helped Spur communicate its value more clearly, accelerate sales conversations, and create stronger alignment across product, marketing, and sales teams.
Customers and prospects now have a clearer understanding of Spur's offering, helping shift market perception from a tactical fraud prevention tool to a trusted intelligence partner. Combined with strong performance gains across the platform, the work has contributed directly to Spur's growth objectives.
This one is personal. I'm incredibly proud of the team at Engine Digital that put this together, from overhauling the brand to launching the site, this effort will pay off for us as a business for years to come
